California Edition Only
Aligned and correlated to California’s History–Social Science content standards
A cumulative review of levels 6, 7, and 8

Bellwork's full-year classroom management and daily standards practice program is designed for students performing at all levels and helps the classroom teacher supplement instruction for all students that benefit from assessment, remediation, review, and a challenge in history–social science. Bellwork History–Social Science Level 8 is a cumulative review of the history–social science standards for levels 6-8. It reinforces the skills/concepts students have learned in their core curriculum and covers skills in ancient civilizations, medieval and early modern times, and U.S. history and geography.
The program is written specifically for the appropriate skills practice necessary to meet the expectations set forth in the standards and testing. It is correlated with current national trends in history–social science curriculum, adopted textbooks, and testing, as well as, reviewed for consistency and alignment with state standards.
To reinforce previously learned concepts, the skills are introduced and practiced in chronological order so that students build confidence and maintain proficiency in a wide variety of history concepts. Most pages concentrate on one skill while others cover multiple skills.
Questions are written in a standardized test practice format to familiarize students with the format and language of multiple-choice questions and to give students practice in proper “test-taking” behavior. A typical student page has two to four questions for the students to answer.
One of the most significant underlying program philosophies is the importance of frequently assessing students’ knowledge of the standards. With the use of Bellwork, students will retain previously learned skills and demonstrate their understanding of important key standards on a daily basis.
