Bellwork's Life Science Level 7 is a full-year classroom management and daily standards practice program covering skills in cell biology, genetics, evolution, earth science, living systems, and physical science.
The program is written specifically for the appropriate skills practice necessary to meet the expectations set forth in the standards and testing. It is correlated with current national trends in science curriculum, adopted textbooks, and testing, as well as, reviewed for consistency and alignment with state standards.
To reinforce previously learned skills, Bellwork utilizes distributed (spiraling) practice of essential skills so that students build confidence and maintain proficiency in a wide variety of life science concepts. New skills are added systematically, while consistent review of our previously introduced skills is maintained. Some pages concentrate on one skill while others cover multiple skills.
Questions are written in a standardized test practice format to familiarize students with the format and language of multiple-choice questions and to give students practice in proper “test-taking” behavior. A typical student page has two to four questions for the students to answer plus a useful science term, fun fact, or scrambled word at the bottom of each page!
One of the most significant underlying program philosophies is the importance of frequently assessing students’ knowledge of the standards. With the use of Bellwork, students will retain previously learned skills and demonstrate their understanding of important key standards on a daily basis.
